Expertise
We are more than merely a parts and tools supplier. At Possehl Electronics you get service from A to Z and products from a single source. Our expertise brought to the point: to connect and protect!
Stamping Technology
The stamping technology is one of the five production technologies at Possehl Electronics. We produce about 1.7 billion stamped parts per year, either in the reel-to-reel or reel-to-piece process. We have more that 30 stamping machines and high-performance presses in different versions. With in-line stamping monitoring, test equipment for optical final inspection or as part of interlinked plants with integrated processing stages such as welding, riveting, clinching and packing.
Stamping TechnologyElectroplating technology
The stamping technology is another important part of our technology construction kit and offers a great number of possibilities for better protection of products against corrosion or for increasing the conductivity. The trick is only to apply the functional metal to the base material where it is needed. With the plants of Possehl Electronics we produce more than 14,000 km of plated flat-stock material. No matter whether you need the incomparable conductivity of gold, the robust durability of nickel or the precision of a spot plating, the possibilities with our extensive plating solutions are almost endless.
Electroplating technologyEtching technology
We have decades of experience in the production of lead frames and extensive know-how in the field of etching technology. We produce more than 40 million etched parts per year with different surface coatings and properties for highly complex designs in the reel-to-reel method. To improve the enclosure reliability (MSL-Level) we apply a proprietary treatment method to one or both sides of the copper surface to increase the mechanical locking performance.
Etching technologyPlastics engineering
The plastics engineering is a central part of the production at Possehl Electronics. Our goal is the perfect bonding of metal and plastic. We have more than 90 injection molding machines and more than 70 fully or semi-automatic plants for manufacturing complex enclosure assemblies and hybrid parts, reel-to-reel or reel-to-piece. We process about 2,100 t of plastic granulate, usually on fully automatic plants with other integrated processes such as: Stamping, bending, overmolding, HV testing, pin correction, camera testing, ELKO welding, coding, palleting and other process steps in an interlinked robot automation.
Plastics engineeringAssembly technology
For the assembly of a hybrid part, the respective connection technology is adjusted to the product design and customer requirements as early as the development phase at Possehl Electronics. Laser and resistance welding are increasingly used, for example, in the integration of passive and active electrical components. Technologies such as gluing, screwing, hot and cold caulking, clinching and pressing are applied for the manufacture of assemblies. These connection methods are usually integrated into an automated production cell and the quality is monitored 100% in-line. We process approximately 600 million assembly parts per year with about 210 production robots.

Innovation leap in electroplating – focus on sustainability and technology.
Possehl Electronics Netherlands (PENL) reached an important milestone in the company’s history in 2024: the introduction of a new, state-of-the-art electroplating line not only expands the technological expertise of the PE group, but also sets a clear example of sustainable production and environmental awareness.
The new electroplating line is 100 meters long, making it the longest, and at 20 meters per minute, the fastest coating line within the PE Group. It marks a significant technological advance with a fully automated system controlled by a central computer. This system includes precise recipe management and advanced process control, ensuring maximum precision and efficiency.
One of the key technologies of the new line is the use of selective dip cells with automatic adjustment, which not only enable significant savings in metals, but also reduce setup times, thus increasing productivity. The combination of speed, automation and resource efficiency makes the new plant a technological showcase.
This investment significantly expands PENL’s existing technology portfolio: in addition to coatings for semiconductors, applications for the automotive and connector industries can now also be covered. Furthermore, indium has been introduced for press-fit production – an advanced technology that is only offered by a few suppliers on the market, thus giving PENL a clear competitive advantage.
The development of the new electroplating line is based on the proven best practice innovations of the PE Group. Numerous technological advances from previous projects have been directly integrated into the new facility. This not only ensures maximum efficiency, but also makes production more sustainable and future-proof.
In addition to technological advances, a particular focus was placed on environmental protection during the development of the new electroplating line. The fireproof hot water heating system not only increases safety, but also contributes to improved energy efficiency.
Another important aspect is the cascade rinsing, which significantly reduces water consumption. At the same time, the internal refinement of the wastewater minimizes the generation of waste materials. To protect the groundwater, a system with durable coatings and above-ground pipelines has been installed. These prevent potential leaks and facilitate maintenance, which further strengthens long-term environmental protection.
This combination of cutting-edge technology, environmental awareness and resource conservation makes the new electroplating line a showcase project within the PE Group. It underscores Possehl Electronics’ commitment to reconciling innovation and sustainability.

Lukas Wandelt celebrates second place in Germany
Possehl Electronics are very pround of their employee Lukas Wandelt who, in 2022, completed his training as a plastic and rubber engineering process mechanic specializing in molded parts as second best in the whole of Germany.
On July 27, 2022, he received the Günther-Schwank Award from the Chief Director of the pro-K Industrial Association for Semiconductors and Plastic Consumer Products, Mr. Ralf Olsen, at a small ceremony. The Carl-Benz School and PE, as his training company also received awards.
Mr. Wandelt remained loyal to Possehl Electronics and is working as a process technician in our plastic engineering department. The work is very important to Mr. Wandelt , for one thing, because thinking his way into problems and their solutions is part of his nature. This urge and knack for solving problems, on the other hand, also benefits him outside of work, so that it is hardly surprising that his favorite hobby is chess. He has been playing chess himself for years and supports the Niefern-Öschelbronn Chess Club as a youth trainer. He also likes to plunge into the world of fantasy novels and finds relaxation on the water where he pursues his hobby of canoeing.
Possehl Electronics congratulates Mr. Wandelt sincerely on this excellent performance and the received award.
